Star Trek The Cruise made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday.
In the post, they said, “IMPORTANT CRUISE UPDATE: After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone the 2021 sailing to 2022.
New dates, new ship, new ports, same stellar celebrity crew!!” The Cruise stopped short of blaming the delay on COVID-19, but on their website, they did note their “commitment to always ensure the health and safety of our guests, performers and staff”.

According to the cruise’s new FAQ page about the delay, the new sailing dates will be February 26 - March 5, 2022, the cruise will take place on a different ship, Royal Caribbean’s renovated Mariner of the Seas, and there’s a new port of departure - Port Canaveral, near Orlando, Florida. All the celebrities originally expected to attend in 2021 have committed to sailing in 2022.
Fans who had already booked spots on the 2021 cruise will have their reservations carried over to the new dates.
For those who can’t make the new dates, guests have the option of cancelling their reservations and receiving a refund, rolling their reservations over for another year, to 2023, or applying their reservations as credits on a future Entertainment Cruise Productions sailing.
There are more FAQs and details about the new sailing on Star Trek The Cruise’s website, at www.startrekthecruise.com, and open bookings for the 2022 sailing are due to begin next week, on Tuesday, July 28th.
